If you’ve participated in a mindfulness-based program, tell us about it. It is often useful to people who are interested in taking a mindfulness program to hear from those who have participated. The view from your side of the room is as valuable as the view from our side as facilitators.
In the service of Mindful Speech, we do ask that your comments focus on your experience and not the “goodness” or “badness” of the program or its facilitators.

/ September 19, 2011Just got word about this blog on One-Minute Mindfulness, and I want to thank you for posting this. I’m always excited to hear about mindfulness programs that integrate it into every day living, as yours at the Ottawa Mindfulness Clinic is doing.
I’d like to mention my “MIndfully Speaking” eNewsletter that has monthly updates on new mindfulness research, as well as a reflection for mindful living. To subscribe, go to my http://www.mindfulpractices.com site. Blessings in the minute, Donald Altman, M.A., LPC

I’ve copied your comment with contact information to a reply box in the post itself so our readers can access your newsletter and website.
With a deep bow for your practice,

/ October 31, 2011Hi,
I’d like to use you ’5 things that need your attention’ as a handout for my mindfulness group. How can I get permission to do so, of course, given that I reference it appropriately?

/ January 2, 2012Lynette, I was wondering if it would be possible to address the subject of living mindfully in the ‘real world’. This is obviously a great challenge and something I do struggle with at times.
A related question is whether or not one can be mindful while speaking, moving and going about our daily lives.
Thank you in advance for addressing these two issues that have been niggling away at me. I’ve arrived at some tentative answers myself, but I’d rather hear what you, and possibly others, have to say on the subject.

/ January 3, 2012Sure! Mindfulness practices can only occur in the “real world” – in eating, speaking, walking, reading, etc. If you look back at the various posts, they all address your question – especially the book review on One Minute Mindfulness by Donald Altman.
I hope that answers your question for the moment. I’ll plan some posts that address specific issues like speaking (a tough one!), eating etc.!
Thanks for the question!
